E10 change from 1st September 2021

You may have seen on the news that from 1st September 2021 regular unleaded fuel is switching from E5 to E10. The change in fuel applies to petrol only. Diesel fuel will not be changing.

E10 petrol contains up to 10% renewable ethanol, which is added to reduce petrol vehicle Co2 emissions.

The good news is 95% petrol-powered vehicles on the road today can use E10 petrol and all cars built since 2011 are compatible. You can check if your car, motorbike or moped can use E10 petrol by using the Government’s checker at https://www.gov.uk/check-vehicle-e10-petrol.

The majority of SGN’s sites provide a premium alternative (Shell V-Power/ Jet Ultra/ BP Ultimate etc.) and on the 10 sites where we don’t currently offer this our staff can direct you to the nearest E5 stockist.
