About Our Business

Founded in 2016 as an independently owned petrol forecourt operator trading across the UK, SGN Retail, based in Dunmow, Essex became one of the Top 5 Independent groups of forecourts in the UK. In November 2025 SGN Retail acquired Rusdene Services Ltd from the Lodge family, continuing to run the business with the very successful team already in place supported by the wider SGN group.

In September 2026 ESSAR Energy Transition Retail (EET) acquired SGN Retail creating a 235-site network with 650m+ litres of annual throughput — instantly making EET Retail the UK’s second-largest backward-integrated forecourt operator. 

Our style and ethos are simple, excellence of service to our customers, through having the right products and services that our customers need, when they need them, served in a friendly manner.

This approach is underpinned by offering Value for money in each of the communities that we serve, at the pump and in the shop, with ongoing everyday promotions & group wide 3 weekly national promotions.
